Beyond the Bandlewood Guide - Mechanics, Cards, Bandle City, Champions

August 25th, 2021 | Hades4u
The Beyond the Bandlewood update is finally here with 126 new cards including 9 new champions, new mechanics and keywords, plus a new region, Bandle City! Let's briefly go through and learn what's new! :)

You can find all the new Legends of Runeterra Beyond the Bandlewood cards in our Card Database!

Bandle City Champions

Tristana

Tristana starts as a 1/3 but her attack increases by 1 for every multi-region ally summoned. She levels up once 4 multi-region allies were summoned and she becomes a 2/4 with Impact, one of the new keywords of this update!

Impact - When this strikes while attacking, it deals 1 to enemy nexus. This keyword can stack.

Ziggs

Ziggs is going to be as annoying to deal with as in League. He starts as a 3/4 that deals 1 damage to his blocker and the enemy Nexus every time he attacks. By destroying 4 landmarks he levels up to a 4/5 and his Attack damage is increased to 2. He will also receive a new effect that deals 2 damage to the enemy Nexus whenever an allied landmark is destroyed.

Ziggs is one of the new multi-region cards, being part of both Bandle City and Shurima.

Poppy

As always, Poppy is the perfect champion in every team, in this case in every deck. She's a 4/3 that boosts the stats of herself and her allies whenever she attacks. After 3 attacks together with her allies, she becomes a 5/4 with Impact and her stats boosts are even stronger.

Poppy is one of the new multi-region cards, being part of both Bandle City and Demacia.

Impact - When this strikes while attacking, it deals 1 to enemy nexus. This keyword can stack.

Veigar

The true power of Veigar comes from his Darkness. He starts off as a 1/4 that increases the damage of his Darkness every Round Start. Dealing 12 damage using Darkness will evolve him to Grand Overseer Veigar, increasing his stats to 2/5 and making his Darkness able to target anything. Cherish your Darkness and it'll reward you with a lot of damage for your enemies!

Veigar is one of the new multi-region cards, being part of both Bandle City and Shadow Isles.

Bandle City Decks

If you want to find decks for Bandle City champions look no further! We have deck lists dedicated to each Bandle City champion:

Other Champions

On top of the champions for the new region Bandle City, Riot has added several more champions to join your decks!

Xerath - Shurima

Xerath starts as a 3/3 that deals 1 damage to the weakest enemy whenever an allied landmark is destroyed. To level up, 4 allied landmarks must be destroyed. Leveling up makes Xerath a 4/4 and his effect deals 3 damage instead. His strength can be further increased to 5/9 and 5 damage to the weakest enemy by becoming ascended.

Nami - Bilgewater

Nami slithers to the battlefield! She's a 2/3 champion that grants +1 attack to the weakest ally that isn't Immobile. Gaining 7 spell mana will level her up, increasing her stats to 3/4 and her buffs to +2 attack and +1 health. The perfect support!

Sion - Noxus

Sion is a 3/6 that will reward you for every card you've discarded during the game. He can gain up to 7 bonus attack from discarded cards, and if he gets discarded himself, the strongest ally will receive Overwhelm. Summoning or discarding cards of 35 power will level him up and make him a beefy 10/6 champion that summons Sion Returned whenever he's slain. Kill him and he comes back... just can't catch a break with this guy!

Caitlyn - Piltover & Zaun

Caitlyn brings justice to Runeterra! She's a 3/3 champion that uses traps to damage her enemies and create fear whenever a card is drawn. Once 5 traps have been activated, she becomes a 4/4 that plants even more traps and deals damage to the enemy Nexus based on the number of traps activated that round. Sheesh!

Senna - Shadow Isles

Another champion that uses Darkness to her advantage is Senna! She's a 4/4 that creates Darkness when summoned and every time she attacks. Slaying 3 enemies with spells or witnessing Lucian die will level her up, boosting her stats to 5/5 and decreasing the costs of damage and kill spells by 1.

Beyond the Bandlewood Mechanics and Keywords Recap

LoR Beyond the Bandlewood comes with two new mechanics and keywords. We've already covered some of them above, but let's quickly recap!

Impact

Impact text reads "When this strikes while attacking, it deals 1 to enemy nexus. This keyword can stack.". The fact that this mechanic can stack is amazing and opens up many possibilities and fun strategies!

Manifest

Manifest text reads "Create in hand one of three randomly selected cards.". This effect could come in handy whenever you're in need of a specific card or could use something new to spice up your hand!
